Built on the standards

Every output references its source standard. GeoProbe doesn't replace engineering judgement — it structures it.

Built by engineers,
for engineers.

GeoProbe was created out of frustration with the time geotechnical engineers spend on GI planning admin — time that should go into engineering judgement, not spreadsheet wrangling.

Every feature in GeoProbe exists because a practising geotechnical engineer needed it. The outputs reference the actual standards you cite in your reports, the BoQ follows the ICE Annex 1 structure your clients expect, and the AGS export matches the format your lab uses.

"Ground investigation planning is one of the most consequential decisions in a geotechnical project — yet most engineers are still doing it in a spreadsheet. GeoProbe changes that."
— James Tasker, Geotechnical Engineer · Founder, GeoProbe

No. During beta, the full tool is accessible without an account. You need to sign in only if you want to save projects (Basic and Professional plans). You can generate GI schedules, BoQs, and AGS exports entirely for free with no login required.
GeoProbe is aligned to BS 5930:2015+A1 (site investigation), BS 10175:2011+A1 (geo-environmental), BS EN 1997-1 and 1997-2 (Eurocode 7), and the ICE Specification for Ground Investigation 3rd Edition. AGS exports follow the AGS 4.0.4 format. Every output references its source standard so you can audit the logic.
The BoQ uses indicative 2024–25 UK market rates compiled from published tender data, intended for feasibility and budget estimates only. The rates include confidence bands to reflect regional variation. Before issuing to a client, you should replace these with rates from a tendered specialist contractor quote. GeoProbe outputs a standard ICE Annex 1 BoQ structure that a specialist contractor can price directly.
Yes. GeoProbe is hosted on Cloudflare's UK/EU infrastructure. Your plan data is processed in the browser and only stored server-side if you save a project (Pro feature). We do not share your data with third parties. Authentication is handled by Supabase with industry-standard JWT tokens. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
GeoProbe is designed for desktop and tablet use. The interactive map, left panel, and output tabs work best on a screen of at least 1024px wide. While the page is responsive, mobile phones have too small a viewport to use the tool comfortably. We recommend a laptop or desktop for site planning work.
GeoProbe supports export to: AGS 4.0.4 (PROJ + LOCA groups), CSV (schedule and BoQ), ICE Schedule 1 as plain text, and print/PDF via the browser print dialog. Shapefile (SHP) export is on the roadmap for the Professional plan. AGS import supports both 4.0.4 and 4.1 formats for historic GI data.
The Free plan gives you full access to the GI planning tool and all outputs — everything you need to design a ground investigation programme. Basic (£5/month) and Professional (£20/month) plans add saved projects, team access, and priority support. During beta, exports are available on the Free plan. See the pricing section for a full comparison.
Yes. GeoProbe is operated under UK law and complies with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We collect only the data necessary to provide the service. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time by emailing support@geoprobe.co.uk. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
